Eleva la energía en San Valentín con suplementos para la libido

Boost your energy on Valentine’s Day with libido supplements

It is already Valentine's Day; however, it is a week and a season that starts over and is reactivated with new hopes and desires for your partner. Do you use libido supplements?

Although you may be training hard and taking supplements for muscle growth, recovery, or your health, there is always something missing, right? Life, stress, and even the weather often take a toll on your body, whether you are a man or a woman, prompting you to think about new solutions, a more varied diet, and, of course, libido supplements.

It happens to almost everyone: your intimate life ebbs and flows; your age, health, and feelings about your relationship can have an impact, from your economic or social success to your athletic performance.

In some situations, supplements can help, but first you should look at the bigger picture and, in certain cases, do not hesitate to seek professional help.

But before adding new nutrients that could solve things, you should think about your lifestyle, from your physical condition and mental state, which would be the foundation that cannot be changed by any substance, natural or otherwise.

The point is that most of the attention on libido supplements focuses on men, although these do not always work for women… well, both sexes have options, especially on Valentine's Day, when hormones run wild…

Supplements for women's libido

First, we start with a mineral that statistics recognize as one of those found at lower levels in women, whether due to diet or hormonal problems.

  • Iron can decrease your libido; this includes desire, arousal, lubrication, and the ability to have an orgasm, although too much iron can be terrible because of its effects on constipation and stomach discomfort.

On the other hand, the famous Tribulus terrestris is a Mediterranean fruit-producing plant covered in thorns, also called puncture vine, which is better known among male bodybuilders than among women who want to improve their inner drive.

  • Some formulations also include other ingredients, but in our view this is not important. What does surprise us is that in a small study we conducted, with about 7.5 mg of Tribulus terrestris over one month, women could significantly boost their libido in every sense.

At this point, no energy drink has appeared yet, right? Well, the third option, viewed more as an energy herb than as one of the supplements for women's libido, is maca, or Peruvian ginseng.

  • When a woman is weakened or mentally affected by certain situations or, even when taking medication, her libido decreases, maca may help women who are not sensitive to estrogen… well, it is a matter of experimenting and finding out how things work…

Libido supplements for men

What can we tell you, man… if you know and have experienced it, right? From Korean ginseng to pollen, from honey to peanuts…

L-arginine is an amino acid, the building blocks of proteins. In your body, it is converted into nitric oxide, which, according to experience, may improve male libido in every sense, starting with erections.

Another of the libido supplements for men is the powerful Propionyl-L-carnitine, an amino acid produced by the body that is important for metabolism. Likewise, there is evidence that using a combination of B vitamins with L-carnitine can be exceptional, both for raising HDL cholesterol (improving circulation) and reducing body fat.

But for men, everything has to do with the mind, and in this regard, stimulating it so that it sends the signals it needs to send is crucial. For this purpose, you can use:

  • SAM-e, which helps prevent depression that harms your sex life without relying on antidepressant medications. This is a substance produced by the body that may help in certain situations.
  • BCAAs—YES, BCAAs—compete with tryptophan for transport to the brain; they also compete with tyrosine. If you increase BCAAs relative to other amino acids, less tryptophan will enter the brain/cells, and less serotonin will be produced… (serotonin decreases, increasing dopamine and thus producing better performance, even in intimate situations)…

So far, we have analyzed some supplements; however, several are available whose focus should be on enhancing the circulatory system.

Libido supplements and the circulatory system?

Clearly, if we have a better circulatory system, we could send more blood and better stimulate intimate areas. For men and women, there are natural solutions that can effectively fulfill these functions. Let’s see: what are the best libido supplements for enhancing the circulatory system?

The circulatory system provides cells with oxygen and nutrients while transporting waste from the bloodstream. However, when it malfunctions because the arteries can become blocked—generally by fatty deposits—the artery walls become less elastic.

There are many ways to support circulatory health, but three particular vitamins that may be beneficial include vitamin D and vitamin E, which, together with the renowned B-complex, can work wonders for your intimate relationship [3].

  • Vitamin D could help strengthen endothelial cells, which act as a barrier between blood vessels and tissues and control the flow of substances into and out of cells. It could also help strengthen blood vessels and reduce levels of a hormone called angiotensin, which increases blood pressure and inflammation.
  • There is also evidence that vitamin E may support blood vessel health and blood flow in the arteries.

Obviously, polyphenols, such as those found in berries, also help improve circulation and blood flow. These berries are rich in antioxidants that support immunity and a good mood.

Likewise, there are other solutions, such as organic cinnamon, African mango, reishi, or ginkgo biloba, and even turmeric or the occasional herbal extract; they are all excellent in various ways for the circulatory system and your libido.

Supplements for libido—and what about fatty acids?

It is well known that eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) are omega-3 fatty acids that promote the release of nitric oxide. Nitric oxide relaxes blood vessels and improves blood flow… a basic explanation of these libido supplements, almost trivial, but it is what we want you to understand…

In a separate study, subjects who took 2.2 g of EPA and 1.4 g of DHA in a fish oil supplement once a day for 4 weeks experienced increased blood flow to their legs after exercise, although approximately 3 g per day of EPA and DHA is recommended, whether from quality fish oil or slightly more expensive krill oil, which offers somewhat better value and quality [4].

On the other hand, omega-3 fatty acids may also help increase dopamine levels, which can improve mood and also help trigger sexual arousal.

Surprisingly, fatty acids can also help hydrate the skin and the mucous membranes, helping reduce dryness and create the necessary lubrication, especially in adulthood.

Supplements for libido—what about minerals too?

We won't get sidetracked by everything minerals can do, or by acid–base balances or the potassium/sodium ratio for arterial health or blood pressure… well, let's get to the point because it's already Valentine's Day, right?…

First, let's talk about magnesium;

  • The mineral helps produce sex hormones such as androgen and estrogen, which affect your libido. Studies have shown that taking supplements containing this mineral can increase libido.
  • If anxiety prevents you from having an orgasm, this mineral could help, as it has calming and relaxing properties [5].

Secondly, the old and powerful zinc;

  • Zinc deficiency can hinder testosterone production. Like magnesium, zinc is lost through sweat, so athletes and others who sweat heavily are more likely to be deficient.
  • Although dietary zinc is found mainly in products of animal origin, it is also present in some cereals and nuts, although a supplement such as ZMA with Tribulus would be an extraordinary aid as one of the best libido supplements [6].

Conclusions for Valentine's Day

Although men and women have differences, they should start training together and share unforgettable moments (at least interact during deload weeks) to boost the drive behind their athletic goals, including their romantic goals.

Five things for keeping libido sky-high that are easy to develop should be implemented by one partner or the other. We are talking about:

  • First, sleep well, because good sleep keeps your hormones healthy.
  • Maintain a balanced diet low in trans fats and sugars; one way to spark your sexual appetite is to go grocery shopping and/or cook together.
  • Use certain libido supplements, combining both romantic and athletic needs.
  • Train, both recreationally and competitively (if applicable), without ever neglecting entertainment, thereby keeping daily stress at bay.
  • Finally, get regular blood tests and use them to monitor yourself and your partner in every respect.

For men, we previously prepared several articles and a video made by MASmusculo discussing how to raise testosterone naturally.
