Why is UC-II collagen so effective?

Why is type II collagen so important in the body?

Type II collagen is the main component found in cartilaginous tissues.

Joint cartilage is a highly specialized tissue that covers the surfaces of the bones that are part of the joints. Helps protect bones and facilitates movement.

Articular cartilage does not have blood vessels, but is nourished superficially by synovial fluid and bone, and has little capacity to regenerate.

Chondrocytes (the only cellular element present in cartilage) are responsible for the maintenance and synthesis of the extracellular matrix, whose composition is 20% solid matter and 80% water, and its main components are proteoglycans and type II collagen. For this reason, the consumption of external collagen such as UC-II is of vital importance to contribute to the recovery and prevention of lost cartilage.
